Our joy is in giving. Some say we are foolish because many will take the food we give them and sell it or trade it for drugs. While this may be, Christ left the ninety and nine and sought out the one which was lost. We reach out to the one family who really needs a friend, who cares enough to give them a hand up and not a hand out!
Matthew 25:40 When you have done it to the least of these you have done it unto me!
"HUNGER IS UNACCEPTABLE. TOGETHER, WE CAN DEFEAT THIS DREADED PROBLEM"!!
Sumner County Food Bank is a ministry of caring Christians who are willing to sacrifice for the well being of those less fortunate. We are located at 450 W. Main Street, Bldg. E, Gallatin. Food distribution is done at Liberty Baptist Church, 354 E. Main Street, directly across from Sav-a-lot grocery.
Sumner County Food Bank is supported by numerous churches, business and professional men and women who care, hospitals, schools, and loving individuals
We are unique in that we serve all of Sumner County. Most other agencies serve only the citizens who live within the city limits.
Sumner County Food Bank is a 501 C 3 tax exempt agency. We are also Tennessee tax exempt. All donations are fully tax deductible
Sumner County Food Bank is a partner with Second Harvest Food Bank in Nashville. We purchase approximately 60% of our food product from Second Harvest at a reduced rate. With every dollar donated, we are able to purchase approximately 300 % of what a donor is able to purchase in a retail grocery store.
Sumner County Food Bank has no paid employees. Every dollar donated goes 100% to the purchase of food, building cost, and trucking expenses.
SUMNER COUNTY FOOD BANK SERVES OUR COMMUNITY THE THIRD TUESDAY OF EACH MONTH. THE DOORS OPEN AT 9:00 A.M. AND CLOSES WHEN ALL HAVE BEEN SERVED OR ALL THE GOOD IS GONE.
This sign must not, ever again, be placed on our door during a food give-a-way. With the help of our friends and neighbors, this will not be necessary. Hunger is unacceptable.
Thanks to Mr. Jim Hall, Scout Leader, and Scout Troup 425 for raising 2,500 cans of food for our Christmas food give-a-way.
